Zone Conference - Drammen/Oslo

Drammen
lying 40 km SW of Oslo is now the country's tenth largest city but a stronghold for the church in Norway.
never was a favorite of Dad's first mission but it does hold it's own charm...prettier than I remember and made even more beautiful by the wonderful members who reside here and a fond memory of many zone conferences and opportunities to mingle with the younger missionaries and couples.

The real reason for our visit - Zone Conference - Love being able to be with the younger missionaries and they have so many talents to share.

Elders Garlick, Steele, Jensen., Greenwood and Shanklin.

Easter decor this time

a highlight of the conferences for the younger missionaries - a chance to socialize and eat

This tunnel goes up in a spiral inside the mountain.

It wouldn't be Norway without a troll....this one half way up Spiralen tunnel

spectacular views of the city from on top

back down the spiral tunnel

Drammen Domkirke in evening

bridge across the fjord into the main sentrum

the fountain lit up at night

Asker domkirke - a storied & distinct landmark driving into Oslo from the south

back in Oslo before we return home...nice to see the tulips and other flowers in bloom.  Spring has arrived in Oslo and southern Norway...we will wait a few more weeks in the North
