Sailing & Ships in Fjord

Well, it's not far down to paradise, at least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility
Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see...

...Sailing takes me away to where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me

seen in the Fjord from our apartment at different times of the year.   There were hundreds more but here are a few when we had a camera ready to capture them.  It was fascinating for us folk who live in the desert.  We will miss being around this much water.

sailing is popular on the fjord during the spring, summer & fall.

Boats of all shapes and sizes come up and down the fjords.

Speed Tour Boat that zips along the fjord each day taking guests to see the islands and whales

Not from our apartment but off the island.  We liked the boat and thought it made for a good photo.

One of the military ships that sails through regularly.

This one was a cool ship we saw on Svalbard, added it in because we like it.

Cruise ships come up the fjord daily with 1000's of tourists to see the town.   Either chasing the midnight sun or the northern lights.  Tromsø is known as the Paris of the North.

One of 5 Hurtigruten ships.  This one is Nordlys.

Hurtigruten - One could set their watch by when you heard the horn announcing it was coming into town.  Everyday about 2:10p.  Or 6pm leaving.

Hurtigruten during mørketid - lit up at mid afternoon
