Northern Lights part II..fading from view but not from memories

As the Sun’s activity slowly wanes towards ‘Solar Minimum’ – the phase in the solar cycle when sunspot energy reaches its lowest point - it’s understandable if Aurora hunters become concerned that the Northern Lights may appear less frequently or disappear altogether. However, Solar Minimum was predicted to occur in 2019 and, contrary to some of the wilder reports, Solar Minimum does not mean that the Northern Lights are going to fade...contrary to some of the more defeatist rumours, Aurora watchers won’t have to bid farewell to the Northern Lights as the Solar Minimum takes place, however, the importance of your location will become more and more vital for your Auroral viewing.
These photos are the last ones we saw...first week in April.  Some with Jeanette and Anne which allowed them to see them for the first time and some with Elder Holyoak the night before he transferred south, his last chance to see them...

hard to see but this is Anne, Mom & Jeanette

a little fuzzy because it's Dad taking the pictures not Mom and he doesn't hold the iphone camera very still

Can see Anne & Jeanette a little better on this one, but still not holding the phone very still

Yours truly also just to prove we really were there....it's nights like this we wish we had a real camera...but we still have all the memories.
