Christmas

Most people don't decorate their homes like in America - maybe a candle or star in the windows.  The city of Kristiansand supplies the decorations for 4 homes in the area and they light them up like Christmas vacation.

Kristiansand has a light show every  night on the side of the buildings just down from the Domkirke and Torv by the corner of Markens Gate - It is about a 5 minute 3D light show and fun to watch.  (We have a video but it is too big to post sorry) . We have 2 different light shows that we saw.

The marzipan pig is a big part of Norwegian christmas dinner.  Fix riscrem with one almond in the middle of the porridge and who ever finds it wins the pig.  This is just a representation of the candied pigs they hand out

another view of the ice rink on the torv - free skating for anyone who comes - this is a picture after hours when everyone has gone home
