Flekkerøy

Another p-day hike to surrounding areas in Sørlandet.   This time we went to a little island about 15 minutes from our home.

most of the beautiful colors are faded or gone now we are heading into winter, but the hikes are still quite enjoyable.

trolls may be anywhere hiding in the country so one must be careful where one goes.  Here is one grinning waiting for the unsuspecting.

not quite like cascade springs but similar, they have built little walkways through parts of the island to avoid having to walk through the swampy areas.

careful for the rock trolls, they may appear at anytime

Mom keeps wondering where all the wildlife is, she finally caught one on camera.  We did see a beautiful large red squirrel on this hike but were too slow with the camera.

the only way to get to the island is either by boat or through this tunnel which runs a couple of miles under the sea.

The descent is pretty steep so you have to watch your speed since they have cameras inside taking a picture if you are speeding - they will then send you a nice $500 fine or more depending on the speed you are traveling.

It was a misty day but not terrible for the time of year.  Most of the rain held off until we were heading home
