Service Project after floods - Svendsen family

Southern Norway has seen an extraordinary amount of rain this fall.  It ended up causing flooding in Kristiansand.  We were not affected as we are up on the 2nd level and close to where the river empties into the ocean.  We did have to boil water for a couple of days though because the city water supply was contaminated by the high waters.

This is the Otra river about a 1/2 mile upstream from our place.

This is Salmon falls we had pictures of under Rønning entry earlier - the storms completely flooded the factory there and covered all the farm lands and countryside.

Clean up at the Svendsen's - Nice to offer some service.

Their farm is about 6-8 feet above the normal river level but they ended up with a foot of water in the basement of their home with the flood from all the rain.  It had been 150 years since they had seen that much rain.

Grandchildren's playhouse on their property.  Mom fell in love with it.

Their home was built in 1905.   It is beautiful.

They fixed us a wonderful dinner to say thanks - we would have done it without any reward.

Nice to see everyone smiling after working
