Middag with Atle

Members are very thoughtful, loving and kind and are always inviting the missionaries over for Middag (Dinner).  View of small town of Mosby from Atle's home.  It was really beautiful with the lights shining from the homes (sorry this picture doesn't do it justtice). busy preparing food for dinner (Middag).  Atle is one of our Young Single Adults.  He purchased a home a little while ago and has been busy remodeling it - he is a carpenter by trade.  Mom loved his sign in the entry way. Transfer Breakfast - Agder District

Parting with missionaries we have grown to love is always a little hard but we are excited for them and their new assignments & adventures.   The best part is we get to know and learn to love even more of the wonderful young men and women who are devoting their time to serve the Lord in Norway. Travelled to Arendal to pick up Elders Brooks & Spencer since buses were not running often with the Holidays.  Elders had to stop and get their picture taken with these statues outside a gas station along the way.  Elder Brooks, the district leader got transferred to Bodø (above the Artic Circle). Hannah Mission Homecoming

Rolf, Fredrik, Even, Benjamin & Jaime Miriam Montanares Rustad & Emily Torjesen (married to Oscar a cousin to Hannah from Arendal) Sisters with McFadzeans (Jared & Ida) Sis Cook baked her a welcome home cake Jaime Eldodoro Torres Montanares Great having Hannah Torjesen return home from her mission in Spain.  She will be a great strength to our YSA group and the ward.  As with all great parties, people and food are a must. Ingvild & Kari Missionaries with Tamper's - Emma (YSA) their daughter is on the right - preparing meal Their beautiful home Ready to eat a traditional - Finnish - Norwegian holiday meal This is what heats their home Holiday tree in their foyer beautiful old trunk in their home with rosemåling a traditional form of decorative folk art that originated in the rural valleys of Norway.  Rosemåling is a style of Norwegian decorative painted on wood that uses stylized flower ornamentation, scrollwok, lining and geometic elements, often in flowing patterns.  Each area of the country has their own unique type. view of the surrounding country outside their home in Bjelland Game time - everybody was in stitches laughing trying to play this game.   It was difficult trying to pronounce Norwegian tongue twisters with this plastic piece in your mouth.  (Kari) Elder Martineau Sister Stocks Emma Elder Arnes

Hiking Adventures in Søgne

One day over the Holidays while Dad was busy with the missionaries organizing the YSA center,  Mom decided to be adventurous and go on a hike with a Michelle (a single sister in the ward)  The hike was on a trail not far from Michelle's home in Søgne and Mom found it to be very beautiful The trolls love coming along this trail it appears also. We love seeing all the swans here in Kristiansand - they are so graceful and beautiful Sunsets are beautiful even when it comes at 3pm in the afternoon
