The Sun appears to be playing hide and seek with us... Sunrise...Sunset, it all happens within an hour or so at this time of year but it was nice to see the it again. Yeah! This is the first time the sun has come above the horizon in 2 months. Beautiful sunrise on the first day back. First day above the horizon, what a beautiful sight. still hanging on the horizon, but high enough to see.  From our apartment snow may start to melt with more sunlight....until it snows again :) Tromsø bathed ...

A little taste of sami culture... interesting tidbit.  All the reindeer have antlers and shed them each year....the males have antlers in the fall...the females have antlers in the spring...now you know which gender you are seeing even from a far off. traditional shoes and bowl holding pens at the end of the races races are held downtown on the gågate ready, set, go... ...and they are off... And the winner is.... 2 kick sleds by the fence. lasooing competion for men & woman are a part of the week celebrations Competion catagories are available for men and women these reindeer are not tame sleigh rides are available in some areas The torv is filled with many tents where one can purchase sami folklore, dress food and souvenirs
